Instructions of the Freshman and Transfer Students dormitory application for the fall semester 2016

Eligibility: 2016 freshman and transfer students 

Application Dates: Friday, 8/12, 2016 09:00 am to Tuesday, 8/23, 2016 05:00 pm (Late application will not be accepted).

(Those who apply qualifications through University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students do not need to apply online. Please reply to the accommodation survey from Student Association sent in July.)

 

 

Criteria: Applicants and their parents should have their household registry registered outside Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Keelung City for more than 2 years. Students are required to bring along their household registry documents (both students’ and parents’) on the check-in day to be verified. Your eligibility will be canceled if your registry documents are not qualified.

Dormitory ballot: Applicants who have following conditions will be categorized as the priority.

  1. Students with a documented disability
  2. Islanders and aboriginal students
  3. Exchange Students
  4. Foreign students and overseas Chinese students in the first year of study
  5. Medical students on government fund who qualify for the conditions(household registry registered outside Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Keelung City for more than 2 years), and who are in their first year of study in the university.
  6. Students who until the deadline of the application have had their household registry registered outside of Taipei City, New Taipei City, or Keelung City for more than 2 years (including the registry of the parents). And students who have special needs (for those who had their household registry registered in Taoyuan City).
  7. Students who until the deadline of the application have had their household registry registered in Taoyuan City for more than 2 years (including the registry of the parents).
  8. Students proven to have special needs with medical documents.

 

 

Results release date: Thursday, August 25, 2016  2:00 pm.

  1. Please check out the results on Student Housing Service Division website (http://dorm.osa.ntu.edu.tw/main.php). The result and accommodation information will be sent by email, please check your NTU email.
  2. The accommodation results of NTU Prince House (BOT Dorm) please visit Prince House website. (https://ntudorm.prince.com.tw/).

 

 

University dormitory and BOT dormitory

  1. Apply for the university dormitory or the Prince House (BOT Dorm) dormitory or both. If you apply for both type of dorm, the computer will first arrange the university dormitory. If not successful, the next stage will be the Prince House (BOT). If both are drawn, you may only choose one dorm. 
  2. Since the rooms of freshman dormitory are limited, some students will be arranged to the dormitory of senior grades. Same as the other students, these students need to join the draw lots of sophomore dormitory in the second semester.
  3. For the further waiting conditions of dormitory draw, please visit the Student Housing Service Division website (http://dorm.osa.ntu.edu.tw/main.php), your own NTU email, or Prince House (BOT Dorm) website (https://ntudorm.prince.com.tw/ ).

 

 

Check-in time:

  1. For those who live in the university dormitory:

(1). Students who join the first class of freshman camp and those who do not join the freshman camp: 9/10 and 9/11 between 09:00 am – 05:00 pm.

(2). Students who join the second class of freshman camp: 9/3 between 09:00 am – 05:00 pm.

(3). Students who join the first class of freshman camp will be arranged to other dormitory, and need to move out after the camping period.

 

  1. For those who live in the Prince House (BOT Dorm):

(1). Check-in time start from Thursday, 9/1, 2016.

(2). Students who join the first class can live in the university dormitory during the camping period, and then move into Prince House (BOT Dorm) after the freshman camp.

(3). Students who join the second class can live in the Prince House (BOT Dorm), and no need to pay the living fee during the freshman camp.

 

If you match the following conditions, please check the priority options when you apply through the Internet. Please upload the paperwork required. If you don’t meet the qualifications, you can’t have the priority.

 

  1. Disabled students (disability documents needed).
  2. Offshore islanders and aboriginal students (household registration certificate needed).
  3. Foreign students and overseas Chinese students in the first year of study (passport and overseas Chinese students’ certification copy needed).
  4. Medical students on government fund who qualify for the conditions (household registry registered outside Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Keelung City for more than 2 years).
  5. Students from low-income households living outside Taipei City, New Taipei City and Keelung City (You need to upload the low-income certificate. If you meet the qualifications of low-income households, the accommodation fee will be waived.)
  6. Students from mid-low income family (You need to upload the mid-low income certificate. If you meet the qualifications of mid-low income households, you can have 30% reduction of dormitory fee).

 

 

Students whose household registry registered in Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Keelung City may have the chance to apply for university dormitory if there is empty room during the semester. For related information, please visit the website of Student Housing Service Division or check your NTU email during the semester period. (However, this kind of short-term accommodation is only until June 25th, and you need to reapply every year.)

limitation Period and Contract

  1. Students do not need to reapply in normal study duration.
  2. For those who take a leave of absence or drop out need to withdraw dormitory.
  1. Students have to re-sign the contract every year. (Students already lived in The Prince House (BOT) have the priority to extend the contract).
  2. Students without valid university enrollment can’t apply the dormitory.

Points for attention of the Prince House (BOT):

  1. Students less than 20 years old need to have their legal guardian signed an extra consent form and bring it to the BOT front desk when signing the contract.
  2. Students who live in the Prince House (BOT) can’t change the room with students who live in the university dormitory. However, students can join the university dormitory draw lots at the end of every semester.
  3. If you terminate the contract before the expiration date, you need to pay one-month rent for penalty. (Please note that once the booking fee payment is made then the contract is regarded as effective immediately. If you have any questions, please contact The Prince House.)
